A message from the Beaver Borough Municipal Authority: Water Line Coverage
Starting October 15, 2024, the Beaver Borough Municipal Authority is excited to offer a new, no-cost exterior water service line protection program for all eligible residential homeowners. This initiative is designed to provide peace of mind and financial protection for homeowners by covering the repair costs of exterior water service lines. The program is included in the base water rates charged by the Municipal Authority, meaning no additional fees will be required from homeowners.
Key Program Details
- Automatic Enrollment: All eligible residential homeowners receiving water service from the Municipal Authority will be automatically enrolled in this protection program. Coverage begins on October 15, 2024, and will include repair services arranged through Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA).
- What’s Covered: The program provides repair or replacement of damaged exterior water service lines due to normal wear and tear. This includes low-pressure pipes, non-functioning valves, and backflow prevention devices. The program covers repairs up to $8,500 per service call, ensuring substantial protection for homeowners.
- No Action Required: Homeowners do not need to take any action to enroll in the program. If you are currently subscribed to a plan with SLWA, your existing plan will be automatically transitioned to the new Municipal Authority program on October 15, 2024. There will be no changes in coverage, and no additional costs will be billed.
- Optional Coverage: SLWA offers additional, optional coverage plans for other types of service line repairs, including exterior sewer service lines, in-home plumbing, and water heater repairs. These plans are not included in the Municipal Authority’s program and are available directly through SLWA.
How to Use the Service
If you experience an exterior water service line issue after October 15, 2024, simply contact SLWA at 1-844-257-8795, available 24/7. SLWA will dispatch a qualified and insured local plumber to handle the repair. There are no fees for service calls under this program, and repairs are guaranteed for one year.
