On Saturday, August 20, the borough will play host to the second annual ‘Downtown Beaver Scavenger Hunt’—a Reality-show-type challenge that will have participants searching for clues within various stores in the historic town. New for this year there will be both a family friendly hunt along with a competitive timed hunt, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The individual clues in the scavenger hunt, which will be written by local writer Valentine J. Brkich, will have a narrative format and center around the town’s rich and proud heritage.

The Great Downtown Beaver Scavenger Hunt is free and open to anyone. People interested in participating can register at Castle Toys on the day of the event itself. Participants can choose which hunt they wish to participate in by picking up their first clue in the hunt beginning at 10 a.m. on August 20th. Participants will then follow that clue to the next. Once all clues have been collected bring them back to Castle Toys by 3 p.m. and be registered to win a “Family Beaver Basket” filled with prizes and gifts from the participating businesses. Likewise, the winners of the “Timed Hunt” Basket will be racing against the clock with the fastest time with all clues collected earning them the win.
